No longer needing the palatial dimensions of the Kent Estate mansion, but with the elegance of her upbringing as her guide, in 1936 Elizebeth Thatcher Kent commissioned architect Henry Howard to design a more manageable home reminiscent of that which she was raised in Connecticut.
